Recommended Home Staging books

We have started to compile a list of Home Staging books we recommend. As we get several requests a month from people interested in a Home Staging career, some of these books cover the ground on how to become a Home Stager. Even if you are just looking for more information in order to prepare your property for sale, these books on home staging will be very useful!

Other people like to know as much as possible about the Home staging techniques and what they can do themselves to prepare the house for sale. We recommend these Home staging books as we find them very helpful for anyone thinking of putting their property on the market or becoming a professional Home Stager.

An excellent book on what Home staging is all about and what it takes to become a Home stager is

Its primary purpose is to help you, if you are interested in starting a career in that field. The «Guide to become a Home Stager or Redesigner» covers a variety of topics: the first part discusses the qualities required to be a Home Stager, the basics of decorating principles and the training resources available. The second part explains the actual techniques of Home Staging, what are the necessary supplies/props, and covers the differences between the lived-in homes and vacant homes. The last part is all about starting an developping a business and being an entrepreneur. It's very well researched and the information applies to the USA and Canada. Over all, this Home Staging guide has tons of useful information, tips and resources and we highly recommend it as one of your Home Staging tools, if you are interested in becoming a Home Stager.

Home staging tips book

For Do-it-Yourselfers, who want to get more detailed instructions and tips on how to stage their home, we recommend a great book by Teri B Clark, the author of «301 Simple Things You Can Do To Sell Your Home NOW and For More Money Than You Thought».

That book has detailed information on all the things which can be done in order to prepare a property for sale, quickly and inexpensively. Full of ideas on how to fix and refresh, innovative cleaning tips, decluttering advice, the curb appeal tips, and reminders of what's important to the potential buyers...Tons of real life examples and success stories by several North American Home stagers make it an entertaining reading and illustrate various points - this book is a great investment for anyone wanting to do all or part of the Home Staging work themselves!

Another easy to read book, "The complete idiot's guide to Staging Your Home to sell" gives good basic information on Home Staging and all the things to think about when you want to prepare the house for sale. Written by a professional Home Stager, Julie Dana, it explains the concept of Home Staging, why it works, how to set your budget and priorities, why cleaning and decluttering is a must before anything else, what to work on in each room and the final decorating touches to enchant your vistors. It also provides a staging checklist for your convenience.

We have recently come across a book by one of the top Home Stagers in Great Britain, Brian Costen. The Property Coach, as he is known, has been doing and teaching Staging for a long time and has now put all his knowledge and experience into a guide,Home Staging Handbook.

The Home Staging Handbook is like a recipe book that will show you everything that you need to know about preparing your property for the home selling, letting or property rental market.

The Home Staging Handbook will fast track your understanding of how to take control of your property and prepare it for those all seeing buyers or renters.

The Property Coach™ 'Home Staging Handbook' is unique and unlike any other other home staging book or course. You can interact with the information, see changing pictures, print off 'Action Plans' & 'Checklists' and click through to further websites for more information, resources & ideas. This course is in a continuous state of development. When you buy it will be as up to date as it can be. In fact since it's launch in May 2007 it has already been updated twice with lots of new case studies, new pictures and new resources.
