The home staging services offered by Home Staging Montreal range from a detailed three hour consultation to a turnkey solution, managed and executed by a professional Home Stager.
What Home staging services are available?
A trained Home Staging Consultant will provide as few or as many services as you want. It starts with getting to know you and your home over the phone and for us, understanding your needs, desires, timeframe and budget available.
Then, a first (and, sometimes, the only) consultation is scheduled with you at your house, which takes usually from two to three hours, depending on size of your house and the need. At the end of the Consultaion, we'll provide a written checklist of Home staging services we recommend and we can help you prioritize them. From there, everything depends on you!

Why are property staging services important?
They are important because they work! Even if a Stager is not able to guarantee the sale of your house (and neither can a real estate agent), staging your home maximizes your chances of selling fast and for most money. By the way, the concept works equally well in a slow market and a booming market: in a slow market, the buyers are kings (or queens) - they have a choice of several properties and will negociate the lowest price, so you need to differentiate yourself from the competition even more to get the buyer's attention and emotional commitment to your property. In a booming market, you can play the winning game and attract several offers by presenting the best looking house and that will make the price go up!
When is the best time to use the home staging services?
The answer is - the earlier the better! We recommend to stage your house as soon as possible, even before you meet with a realtor. Why? Don't forget that the real estate agent is your first "client" - he/she will appraise the house and suggest the price based on several factors, one of them being the Visual Appeal. The realtors know that a property that does not look inviting/appealing and well decorated will require more time and, therefore, more effort on their part to sell it. If the house does not sell quickly and within his/her mandate, chances are you will give the next mandate to a different agent. The realtor certainly does not want this to happen and the easiest way to sell the house rapidly is to lower its price to bring the visitors in!
How many times have you seen 'New revised price' signs? That means the price is lowered by $5,000-$10,000 or more. By comparison, spending a few hundred dollars on Home staging services might just save the day (provided the property is priced fairly at the start).
If you decide not to use an agent, Staging becomes even more important. To succeed, you need to do everything to stand out from the crowd, especially if the MLS is not accessible to you!
Most owners and agents put the listings up on the Internet and that means PICTURES! Busy consumers will shop first by Internet (statistics show that over 80% of Home buyers start their serach and preselection on the Web) and if they don't like the pictures of your house, you have lost them for good! So the first objective, whether you work with a realtor or not, is to use some Home staging services to enhance the appearance of your property for the photographs and for live visits.
In summary, as soon as you decide to put the property on the market, start investigating the staging services available in your area.
How much will the Staging services cost?
It all depends! A basic rule of thumb is to budget between 0.5% and 1% of the price for Home Staging. Home staging costs will be detrmined by several factors, such as whether the home is vacant or furnished, the need for a new coat of paint and small repairs and the time that the Stager will spend helping the client.
