« Staging to sell » is a proven concept

« Staging to sell » idea originated in California (yes, of course!) more than 25 years ago and today, more than a third of all homes sold in the USA are professionally staged before they are put on the market. It's a merchandizing technique to make your property stand out from the crowd. This makes a lot of sense, particularly in a slow market, as each property needs to look its best to increase the owner's chances to sell it quickly and for the most money possible. In a hot market, it allows the vendor to possibly entertain several offers and select the best one.

You can read some general statistics on home staging (or house fluffing, as it's sometimes called)and you'll see why the «staging to sell» techniques are used more and more often by home owners and realtors.

We are collecting local Montreal statistics and Success stories as well and will be reporting them to you on a regular basis.

home decorating, home staging

Home staging is becomg so mainstream that one of our partners, www.bytheowner.com, has produced two video capsules, interviewing me about Home Staging (in French) and demonstrating an actual staging project (and more are coming shortly). If you want to practice your French, please CLICK HERE to view the Video. We have selected just a few articles and links to useful sites which will give you additional information on the benefits of staging your property and, as you will see, the Home Staging has become a very popular topic in all medias.

HGTV has several shows a week dedicated to home renovating, decorating and, specifically, Staging to sell your property.

News articles are abundant and new ones are coming out every day, all declaring the undeniable benefits of house fluffing and the necessity of doing it.

My articles are regularly published on the Internet, for example on www.bytheowner.com (or www.duproprio.com), www.ezinearticles.com and www.goarticles.com. I also publish a HS-EXPRESS ezine, the need to read newsletter on Home Staging and Interior Redesign. If you'd like more information on it and how to sign up for it (no obligation and asolutely F.R.E.E), please visit the page dedicated to the HS-EXPRESS subscription.

In Canada, house fluffing (or home staging) is a relatively new domain of expertise and it's gaining a wide acceptance from the home owners and the realtors. One of the leaders on the field is Debra Gould, the Staging Diva, from Toronto. Debra Gould has been widely featured in print, on TV and on the radio in the last 3 years. Her professional Training program has been followed by hundreds of Home Stagers from all over the world. I am a graduate of Debra's Staging Diva training program since 2005.

We have noticed an incredible increase in awareness and interest on the part of local home sellers as well as realtors. People are really excited about the concept and understand the benefits os Home Staging. You can read about the Canadian Home Staging scene and other articles:
